What are the limitations of Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is designed for minor imperfections and general improvement. Those with very large or dark spots, moderate to deep wrinkles and serious scars should seek an alternative treatment.

Are there any adverse reactions?
Potential side effects of microdermabrasion are minimal and this is a very safe product with no prolonged downtime after the treatment. You may experience slightly heightened skin sensitivity for 24–48 hours afterwards if you are too aggressive, apply too much pressure or hover in one area too long. Your skin may feel like you have a mild sunburn, which is perfectly normal. And like a sunburn, you may experience dry patches and flakiness several days later. Keep those areas moist and lighten up on your pressure next time you use your DiamondBuff™.

Microdermabrasion only affects the epidermis, which is the outermost layer of skin, so, if you experience any temporary side effects, which may include slight skin tightness, redness and sensitivity, your symptoms will be temporary and resolve in a few days.

It is recommended that clients discontinue Retin-A and any AHA/BHA products 5 days before and for 3 days after. While the process is gentle, it is still effectively enhancing exfoliation!

 

Always remember, a broad spectrum sunscreen is recommended when planning to be outdoors.

How long does the treatment take?
The entire DiamondBuff™ process takes no more than 10–15 minutes to perform. DiamondBuff™ is very versatile and can be used on wet, damp or dry skin.

How often should I use my DiamondBuff™?
We recommend using every 10–14 days depending on your individual skin.

What should I expect after the treatment?
After microdermabrasion, your skin may be pink and feel dry and tight (like a sunburn or windburn) for about 24 hours. Use a hydrating, protective moisturizer as directed.

The DiamondBuff™ is made to be used for many treatments and should last a long time with proper care. Immediately after each use the DiamondBuff™ should be rinsed out in hot running water and the abraded surface scrubbed with a clean soft brush and anti-bacterial soap to remove the dead skin cells.

Blue Dawn dish detergent is recommended.

To keep your DiamondBuff™ looking bright and sparkly, you can simply put it in your dishwasher once a month after cleaning for best results!
